Dear Customers,
The peak season, which is fast approaching, is a period of the highest expectations for e-commerce. Consumer order volumes increase significantly, and with them, the demands for reliable and fast delivery also grow.
That is why we introduced a peak season surcharge last year – a tool that helps us strengthen capacity and maintain a high quality of service even during sudden increases in parcel volumes.
Proven delivery quality
For your customers, it is not only the purchase itself that matters, but also a smooth delivery experience. During the 2025 peak season, e-shops rated PPL’s preparedness and service quality above average, awarding us 4.5 out of 5 stars, with 75% of customers giving us the highest possible rating.
These results are underpinned by long-term investments in our infrastructure and pickup network, as well as by seasonal capacity increases, which help us maintain a high quality of service even during periods of peak demand.
What will the peak season surcharge enable us to provide?
Increased capacity and additional shifts. We will deploy more drivers and operations colleagues, reinforce our teams with external seasonal workers, and provide more space for parcels at our pickup points.
Increased capacity with our international partners. We will ensure reliable processing and sufficient capacity for transporting parcels to our partner networks abroad.
Comprehensive coverage and flexibility. We operate our own network of 2,600+ PPL Boxes, which we do not share with any other carrier, and have premium reserved capacity in 3,500+ AlzaBoxes. This peak season, we will therefore deliver parcels for your customers to 11,000+ pickup points.
Consistent quality. Even at the height of the peak, we will continue to deliver parcels reliably, just as we do throughout the year.
Delivery right up to the last moment. If our driver collects parcels on Tuesday, 22 December, we will deliver them on Wednesday, 23 December – to an address, a PPL Box or a PPL Shop.
We believe that investing in increased capacity is the foundation of a long-term sustainable partnership and satisfied consumers. After all, every parcel has a recipient at the end of its journey who expects everything to run smoothly.
Recipient trust is essential
We are the preferred carrier – your customers expect to see us at checkout. And we will do everything we can to meet their expectations.
Other changes to our legal documents
Finally, we would also like to inform you about the changes that we are introducing with effect from 1 November 2026 in the Product Terms and Conditions, General Terms and Conditions, and the PPL Price List:
🔹We are expanding the geographical coverage of the PPL Parcel Smart Europe product (delivery to pickup point networks abroad) to include shipping to Sweden.
🔹In the Product Terms and Conditions for the PPL Parcel Return Connect service, we have clarified the definition of France as a destination by adding information that Corsica (postcodes 20000–20900) is excluded from the service.
🔹We are clarifying the wording concerning the invoicing of parcels based on volumetric weight.
